The New York Post video team is seeking a Part-Time Video Editor(Tues/Thurs) with producer smarts to help create compelling, shareable videos. Someone who believes news doesn’t have to be boring and who appreciates the odd and unconventional stories as well as important ones.


This is an opportunity to work with an iconic media brand as it experiences exponential digital growth! The New York Post and Page Six videos have received more than a billion views in the past year.

NOTE: This position will be least 2 days per week (rotating among Tues, Thursday at the minimum) from 10am to 6pm, with the possibility of adding a weekend day later depending on candidate interest.


The Part-Time Video Editor will:


Edit videos for digital platforms using a mix of original footage, stock footage and social media content

Help generate our content, pitching video ideas daily and contributing to the team brainstorming

Work autonomously in a fast-paced environment and keep abreast of the latest resources/possibilities in post-production

Write short scripts as well as conduct quick research on various topics

The ideal candidate will have/be:


3-5 years experience editing short form video for digital outlets

Excited about new types of multimedia storytelling and have a track record of creating digital video in a fast-paced newsroom environment on weekly deadlines

Aware of current events across a broad range of topics

Knowledgeable and skilled to pitch across a variety of topic areas from national news, trends and tabloid fare

Expertise with key products in Adobe Creative Suite (Premiere, Photoshop, After Effects) as well as Adobe graphic templates

Experience with multicam editing, and working both with and without producers

The ability to color correct and mix audio

The ability to select and use music to match the tone and style of the story

Aware of the latest formats and trends in digital video as a distinct form of content versus television

A can-do attitude with willingness to pitch in when necessary; we are a small team and everyone contributes in a variety of ways

Motion graphics and simple animation experience a plus

Knowledge about post production workflow a plus

Seasonal Video Editor Job Details

On any given day, NCSA will receive anywhere from 200-400 videos from student-athletes. Assistant Video Editor’s will review the incoming videos to ensure they meet the video guidelines set by NCSA. After reviewing the footage, Assistant Video Editor’s are then responsible for passing it along to NCSA’s team of Video Editors. Throughout the process, Assistant Video Editor’s will spend time communicating with families via email regarding the video process.

Evaluate, reorder, trim, and spotlight student athletes using Hudl Platform or Final Cut Pro X

Process Video while interacting with NCSA’s website

Are you an avid fan of Marvel and Pop Culture with a passion for photography and artwork? Do you enjoy working in a fast-paced, creative environment? The Photo Editor (Entertainment) position is responsible for sourcing, selecting, cropping, and placing analog and/or digital images for Upper Deck’s award-winning entertainment products. Additional tasks include editing and labeling images and artwork received from licensors, maintenance of the image library database, scanning artwork or reflective art, and intermittent color correction. Occasional archival review of institutional or personal collections may also be required.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Proficient at editing, correcting, and optimizing images for high quality print publication.

Comprehensive knowledge of Marvel and other Pop Culture fandoms (some sports is also beneficial).

Support and adhere to internal Photo Department procedures and guidelines.

Assist in maintaining the Image Database as needed. Image assets need to be organized, inventoried, and accessible in a concise and efficient manner. The ability to identify, differentiate and categorize images depending on end usage is essential.

Professional demeanor; team player orientation. Ability to interface with internal parties at all levels.

Hands on, energetic and motivated self-starter with the ability to work additional hours as required.

Acts as a liaison to departmental personnel to track character lists and requested changes.
