The Guston Foundation is a not-for-profit organization devoted to promoting awareness of the 20th century painter, Philip Guston, within the art world and to the public through educational information and the direct experience of his art.

Our website, philipguston.org, which was recently launched in 2020, offers various educational resources on the artist’s life, including a fully searchable catalogue raisonné of Philip Guston’s paintings. This catalogue, made possible by our custom-built database, is the backbone of our relational website.

POSITION SUMMARY

The Guston Foundation is looking for an enthusiastic and experienced Junior Web Manager with the technical skills and knowledge, work ethic and ability to interface with the Senior Web Developer/Manager. Under supervision this person will work with the off-site developers, and with the Foundation staff to offer creative solutions to improve the efficiency, usability and performance of the database and website. An interest in art is recommended.

QUALIFICATIONS
The ideal candidate will have a solid developmental background across multiple technical disciplines including:

A solid understanding of how web applications work including security, session management, and best development practices
Knowledge of relational database systems, Object Oriented Programming and web application development
Working knowledge of WordPress

Competitive: The salary range for this position is $72,600 to $92,400.

About the position:

The LMS Web Developer will be responsible for the day-to-day management and improvement of the Americares Learning Management System, and own the learning experience for staff, partners, and vendors. This includes, but is not limited to, adding and editing new courses, managing users and resolving user issues, and developing a robust reporting mechanism to report on the effectiveness of the LMS and its courses. The LMS Web Developer will be the point of contact for all LMS related tasks and is not required to develop courses but required to upload SCORM files to our LMS.


Key Outcomes:

In the first 90 days, the LMS Web Developer will complete a redesign of the two current LMS sites and an assessment of the current plug-ins being used, and begin developing a reporting structure. Simultaneously, the LMS Web Developer will begin building and developing relationships with key stakeholders across our teams and vendors.


In the first 6 months, the LMS Web Developer will launch an assessment of branding across all our LMS sites to ensure alignment with Marketing and Communications standards and an assessment of our current server platform. At this point, the LMS Web Developer will be scaling the LMS for growth.


In the first year, the LMS Web Developer will have completed redesigns and modifications for all sites, have uploaded another 8-9 courses, and created a template for uploading new courses to ensure efficiency and standardization across sites. The LMS Web Developer will have also built out a third site for internal staff use.
